The Spectator’s annual summer party required additional covered space within a private garden in central London.
The challenge
With a large guest list, restricted access and limited outdoor space, the brief called for a solution that would provide protection from unpredictable weather without detracting from the event setting or aesthetic. Given the high-profile nature of the guest list, the structure needed to be as unobtrusive and refined as possible.
Having worked together annually for several years, we were asked to deliver a discreet solution that would integrate seamlessly into the garden environment and create a memorable summer party space.
The solution
We supplied and installed a 9m x 6m marquee, erected within a single day despite the challenges of restricted access and a prominent central London location. The structure was finished with elegant linings, clear gables, panoramic windows and subtle fairy lighting, creating a light, open feel that complemented the surroundings rather than dominating them.
The specification was carefully chosen to ensure the marquee provided reassurance against the weather while preserving the visual appeal expected of a high-profile summer event.
The results
The marquee allowed the garden to be fully utilised as summer party space, removing any uncertainty around rainfall and ensuring guests remained comfortable throughout the evening. It increased usable capacity while maintaining the desired atmosphere, helping the event run smoothly regardless of the weather.
“Couldn’t recommend Trafalgar Marquees enough. The team are an absolute delight to work with and are willing to go above and beyond for their clients. The marquee looked fantastic and didn’t hinder our event aesthetic at all.”
